Keagan on location, 2022

Keagan Klempel is a photographer making abstract artwork that explores the built and natural environment.

Keagan works with long exposures, deliberate camera movement and very close framing to take a photograph away from what it shows and towards colour, line and texture. Most images are made in a single exposure, with little editing afterwards.

The work is grouped into three ongoing series: Drift, made by moving the camera during long exposures; Still Water, reflections and patterns on the surface of water; and Surfaces, light and shadow on walls and buildings.

Every image is released as a limited edition, printed on archival paper and signed. Prints are held in private collections in several countries.
